The Little Merman

Have you seen how much fun the Love of Legends tour has been so far?? If not, you need to hop over to Phat Quarters – our cohosts have done a fantastic job of collecting the posts every day!

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourNaturally, given such an awesome theme, I couldn’t help but sew along. I’ve been having so much fun introducing my boys to the more “girly” legends like mermaids (and we’re starting a fairy garden next week!), so I knew I wanted to do a merMAN look for Tim.

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourI used the Baja Hoodie and the Cloud 9 Swim Shorts. All the fabric is from Joanns.

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourFor the front of the hoodie, I appliqued a trident in silver. I know it looks a little more like a fork than anything, but hey, even a merman needs to eat, right? Let’s just roll with that and continue….

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourNaturally the back is my favorite! I have loved mermaids for years, and I just love how this tail turned out! It’s a totally free-hand applique and worked out better than I had hoped, since I was putting stretch performance fabric onto terry cloth.

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourI can’t get enough of the shiny shimmer of the scale fabric! Maybe I need to make myself a magpie outfit next….

Who replaced my two-year-old with a big boy??? Stop it!

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourBoth patterns go together so quick and so well. I already have a matching set cut out for John, although I may go with something else on the back so they can tell them apart easily. I’m thinking something octopus-ish.

The Little Merman - Friends Stitched Together for the Love of Legends TourThis honestly may be one of my favorite sews lately! It’s so silly and fun and Tim wore it aaaallll day, so it’s a win for him too!

If you haven’t entered the giveaway, be sure to do so below and if you have anything that fits this theme, you NEED to link up!! The prizes are pretty cool!

The Number of Referring Domains Has a Very Strong Influence
    on Rankings

You may have heard that getting backlinks from the same domain has diminishing returns.
