One of my favorite fall back dinners are these super yummy bacon cheeseburger bites. They are easy, and simple, and never last long in my house! Thank you Taste of Home for the original recipe. As you all know I like to add my own twists and turns to recipes all the time, so here is my version of these!
Ground Turkey – 1.5 lbs
2-3 cans of Crescent rolls
Bacon Pieces – 2 packages
Shredded Cheese – 3-4 cups
Onion – 1 medium sized
To start, you want to make your filling. Cook up your ground turkey (hamburger if you don’t use ground turkey), adding your onion (chopped) and salt, pepper, and garlic. Once all cooked add your bacon pieces. You can cook up your own bacon and chop it up and add it if you would rather, but I have found that the packets of already cooked and chopped bacon are just as yummy and save you so much time! I add about a cup to 2 cups of cheese to the warm filling mixture and mix well.
Set that aside and pre heat your oven according to the crescent roll package. Then unroll your crescents and prepare to stuff them!
I cut the tails off of my crescents and make them more square like so:
I add a scoop (I know such a technical term of measurement but ya know) of cheese directly onto the crescent roll and then a spoonful of the filling.
Fold closed your dough and then place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Repeat process until either all the filling or dough is gone.
Bake about 12 minutes, and then serve warm. They are fantastic by themselves or you can dip them in ketchup/mustard/barbeque sauce/ranch/etc.
If I can get Mr. M to eat these, then you know they have to be good!!
