When I found this fabric in a tote that a friend of my mom’s was giving away, I tossed it into the save pile even though I never thought I would use it. There were just a few scraps and, of course, it was girly!
But a friend is having a little girl and I needed something for her shower. This fabric, mixed with a cream eyelet, turned out to be just perfect for the Isabella Dress by Peek-a-Boo Patterns. I am so in love with how it turned out!
The print has a vintage feel that I’m not normally a fan of, but in this case, it could not look sweeter.
Look at that gorgeous basket of flowers! Somewhere on the front is a random guitar, too…
I came up with my own method of adding button tabs and a seam in the back rather than a zipper so that I could use the lining to finish the seams instead of turning them in 1/4 inch and topstitching. I think it gives those armholes much more professional finish, especially on the 3 month size.
For me, this pattern is all in the details. The ruffles on the front, the flutter sleeves, and the snaps. And if you look close at that last pic, you can see the pattern on the eyelet – beautiful!
