Stitch Swap – Miss Peacock

A group of us Blogger ladies like giving each other fun challenges to blog about… remember the mystery theme challenge Amy and I did? Check that out here if you didn’t see what we did!! It was super fun!

This time around we sent at random a yard of fabric of our choice to another blogger. The blogger who received that fabric could do as they pleased with it! This challenge was indeed a challenge for me. there was a mix up with my partner soo Stephanie from Swoodson Says sent me some fabric!

It is beautiful! I kept debating what kind of shirt I was going to make myself…. and then we decided to remodel a chunk of our house. So this got thrown on the back burner! When I remembered I needed to sew I couldn’t find my fabric!! Ahhhhhh, I know right! I searched high and low and couldn’t find it, but alas my amazing husband found it in my no so crafty room (that is what we had all of our furniture in while we were re doing the floors).

Once I started brainstorming I kept thinking Mrs. Peacock from Clue (which would be a great theme for the board game month of Crafting Con btw!!!!). I couldn’t figure out a design I liked for myself so I opted to do a simple peasant dress for the Princess, and jazz it up with some gold!

The Gold fabric I used for the sleeves was some that was gifted to me from one of the ladies at my old church. She heard I sew and for a couple Sunday’s in a row she would bring me trash bags full of fabric and patterns and all sorts of goodies!

I love gold thread and love using it for little “extra’s” at the hems!

I had enough of the fabric to make Princess a sassy little Miss Peacock clip too!! I made a rosette and hot glued a button on the middle. Added some feathers and glued those onto an alligator clip! Super easy – peasy!

Little Miss Sassy Pant’s here also refused to wear the super cute shoes mommy had for this outfit, and the following is a face she made while I was waving the shoes in front over her trying to convince her to let me put them on her for one picture….

The dress is so sweet. And I bet you will see the “let me think about it” face a lot more as she grows!
It’s okay, I don’t like to wear shoes, either.
