Today I get to show off an amazing dress that Deby from So Sew Easy! She just released her new Color Block Dress! *I was given the pattern for free in return for my post and review. I would have happily paid for this dress because it is that awesome!* This pattern requires stretchy knit fabrics, so the combination of the color blocking is endless. I at first wanted to find a fun pattern with lots of purples throughout because that is my go to, but then one night at work while enjoying a wonderful Dove chocolate it came to me…
As I finished that chocolate and read these wonderful words of wisdom I thought to myself, “you know what? You DO look good in red!! That color block dress will look pretty darn snazzy in red!” So off to the fabric store I went, and this time I drug my poor hubby along with me! He spotted this wonderful light weight black and white polka-dot knit and I knew that would work well with the darker red I had picked out! I think it looks super cute and I can’t wait to wear it to work!
Not only was this one of the easiest dresses to put together, it also looks really sharp! I was a little afraid of wearing it at first – I have always had hips. But because of the stretch in my knits (and clever posing) it ended up really well!
I love patterns that are written well, and are not to complicated with tons of pieces. Deby did a great job simplifying this pattern but leaving the options open to so many ways to put this together!
You will be seeing me make more of these soon! I love that they can be made dressy or more simple, it all depends on your choice of fabric!
Don’t forget to stop by and snag this pattern up! :) Head over to So Sew Easy’s page and look at all of the other great PDF patterns and tutorials she has!
