Nesting Baby Birdie Cupcakes

Easter is this weekend and we wanted to get the littles together to do something…. ok I lied, I saw this super cute recipe and I wanted the momma’s to get together and bake it! The kids just reaped the benefits!

I was searching the internet for cute Easter crafts and this cute and

yummy desert popped up on Martha Stewart’s website! She is a crafty genius!!

So here is Amy and I’s take on the  nesting baby birdie cupcakes!

Let me just say I was the most scared about the coconut. It is a very temperamental creature and one second too much and it will burn! So Amy and I were ecstatic with how perfect it turned out!

We made a couple with out the birdies on top just the “nests”, for those that didn’t want to chomp down on cute baby birdies! he he he

And because Amy’s hubby isn’t a coconut fan we played around with the frosting on a couple for him to enjoy! I know those picky men of ours get spoiled just as much as the kids!

Here are almost all of the littles…Brooke passed out before the cupcakes were finished… We were at Gramma Jill and Papa Ed’s new house to play in their brand new gorgeous kitchen and so the cousins could all play. Side note, my poor boy doesn’t really know that he isn’t related, he just assumes that because they are blonde and he is blonde they must be his cousins too!

Gramma Jill gave us the idea to try a couple with just eggs in a nest, and I must say it came out wonderful!
