Hunger Games with Nap Time Creations

Today we have Emily from Nap Time Creations sharing her Gale-inspired Hunger Games outfit. I was already excited for the new movie coming out this month and these looks are making it so I can hardly wait :)

Hi Crafting Con followers… what a series!! I’m thrilled to be part of it… When I signed up forever ago I was so excited to be thinking about what I would make. I thought about it all summer….. Here’s what I came up with for my look. I’ve ALWAYS been a Gale fan… even when I read the books and didn’t have an image in my head… then when the first movie came out… um yes please… Liam Hemsworth is totally yummy!! {oh and I love my husband to pieces!!!} SO this is a Gale inspired look.

I was inspired by this photo…. rugged pants… shirt and vest… I also created three pieces that work together well or as separates.

All the pieced in this look can be worn separately and are totally not costumey… and I think my son is just as dreamy as Liam Hemsworth…

The sweater is knit from wool and I edited the original pattern to remove the hood and just create a collar. It works perfectly with the collared shirt underneath.

You can find this pattern on Ravelry… it’s free! I’ve used it a few times and love it. You can see my sweaters with hood in this post.

Here’s a peak at the look from the back.. This outfit will be warm all winter and could be worn without the sweater for warmer days.

I love all the details on these pants! The pockets are perfect for all the things boys like to collect and bring home. The shirt and pants patterns are from Peek a Book patterns. {affiliate link} These are the classic Chinos and Classic Oxford. I love how easy and great Amy’s patterns are… they fit my boys really well too and I don’t have to alter them.

This outfit is perfect for the rough and tumble boy… or one trying to sneak out of District 12 {ha!}

Today over on my blog I’ll be sharing a tutorial and free pattern for these cargo pants pockets. They can be added to any pants pattern to create fun cargo pants.

I’d love for you to pop over and check out lots MORE photos of this outfit and my pocket tutorial… AND… I hope I win this month!!

I always love it when the boys get some sewing love! This outfit is so fun and perfect for an active boy.
