Muse of the Morning Pattern Tour

Muse of the Morning Blog Tour

I’m excited to be part of the Muse of the Morning Pattern Tour today! Chrissy has some really cute patterns and I chose to review her Almost One Size Truly Scrumptious Pants. There is a giveaway on her blog here and if you can’t wait to see if you won, there is a coupon code (BLOGTOUR30) which will get you 30% off all patterns bought through her website (not Etsy or Crafty).

I was given this pattern for participating in the tour, but love and recommend it! I know I’ll be making more!

The basic pant pattern is the same for all the sizes, just longer for each size up. I have to admit I was a little skeptical that the same size would fit my scrawny almost-three-year-old and my chunky little almost-one-year-old, but I’m a convert!

"What? We're just enjoying our scrumptious snack with our scrumptious pants!"

The pants go together very quickly – I think they would have taken half an hour, except for my bad habit of not leaving well enough alone.

For Timmy’s pants I had some 2.5″ squares left over from this quilt, so I pieced together the sides and used some of the extra bias tape to finish the bottom of the legs – after taking off about an inch so they wouldn’t be too long.

The main fabric is some kind of linen something from my stash that makes for a very lightweight, comfortable pair of pants.

And they look so cute on that chunky, diapered butt!

For John’s I used a brown broadcloth and managed to eek out the stripes from a tiger print fat quarter. You can kind of see the little strip of brown I had to add to the bottoms to get the length.

And of course I had to add pockets for his favorite stuffed animal – catfish. They’re very simple rectangles of the brown, sewn into a square, turned right side out, and sewn into the side seams. They’re little small, but so are his hands!

I definitely recommend this pattern if you’re looking for a quick pair of pants for your little boy or girl! I fully intended these as jammie pants for the boys, but they’ve been wearing them all week – groceries, playdates, lunch with Gramma – they’re just so light and comfortable! Perfect for a warm but windy spring :)

Be sure to check out all the rest of the tour and grab your patterns while they’re on sale!
