I finally had time to make another Knight Hoodie! I used sweatshirt fleece this time (like you’re supposed to) and I love it even more than the last one :)
I used the same faux leather for the armor pieces. I intended to put on silver rivets again, but like a ninny, I forgot before I took pictures and had to take more the next day. So some have rivets and some don’t. Also, the lighting was better the second time when I didn’t take as many pictures. Of course.
I did the metallic stitching again – although not as much – and used a plastic zipper. I wanted to use a metal one, and thought I bought one, but couldn’t find it, so I settled for black. It’s been one of those days around here.
I did take the time to paint a Tree of Gondor on the back. Nerdy much? It’s already a knight hoodie – might as well take it a step further!
I used some pearly white paint (I think it’s Martha Stewart), so it has a slight sheen you can’t see in the pictures. I made this stamp a while ago and decided to use it, but I think next time I’ll do a freezer paper stencil because I had to go back and fill in a lot of places. I outlined it with a Sharpie and I think that really makes the tree and stars pop!
I love how it looks just as nice partially unzipped!
And really, child – stop looking like a big boy!
I did less topstitching on the armor pieces and I think it looks better this way.
John’s quite happy with his new hoodie! And here are a few outtakes to make you smile, too :)
