Amy and I were lucky enough to be able to sew up some of the new patterns brought to you in the new Girl’s Bundle Up Sale!
If you missed Amy’s post check it out here!
I picked the super cute Potato Chip Skirt from Tie Dye Diva and the Cecille Top/Dress from LilyGiggle.
I have made a couple of Tie Die Diva’s patterns in the past and have loved everything I have made from them. You can see my take on the perfect party dress here.
I knew I wanted to make the reversible option as soon as I saw it! There were so many combinations that ran through my mind, but I knew one side had to be denim. So away to my local JoAnn’s I went and found on a clearance shelf three of these super cute pink and grey fat quarters! $0.79 each! best part is I only used one and a half!! I knew that would pair well with the dark stretch denim I had picked up.
I added some pink pipping to the pockets, and to break up all the darkness of the denim made the pockets out of the same woven cotton from the reversed side.
Princess B knows only two speeds when she is awake, run and NASCAR… so it was difficult to get her to sit still but she did love the skirt. She still will take off and stomp on anything she doesn’t like… and if you don’t get to it fast enough she starts to chew on it. The fact that she is physically wearing the skirt is a good thing! :)
I paired the skirt with The Cecille Top/Dress by LilyGiggle. With the sleek a line feel to the skirt I thought this shirt with the puffed ruffle sleeves would be a cute contrast. That and when the skirt comes off and the flouncy peplum shows, it is super cute paired with leggings!
There are a ton of options to due with this pattern. It can be a cowl neck top or dress, you can do a more gathered peplum or add a skirt to make it a dress. I see many more of these tops in her future!
I had originally bought this sequin fabric for a shirt for myself, but because I tend to over buy, which is a huge problem (insert eye roll here) I had plenty for Princess to have a sparkly shirt too! She is learning more and more words and knows the word pretty, so when I showed her the shirt and was trying to wrangle her to put it on her all she kept saying was “ooooooooooooo pwetty!”
There are other great patterns in the bundle that you will love!! I have my eye on some and can’t wait to get sewing!
Don’t forget to check out all of the other blogs along the tour!
And if all of that isn’t enough to get your tush in gear and buy up this bundle before the deal is gone, then let Princess B be of some assistance….
