Delilah Pattern Tour and a Giveaway

Today is my turn on the Delilah Pattern Tour! The Delilah is a roomy, dolman style top which means it’s not only comfortable, it’s fast to make! (Scroll to the end for the giveaway)

I received this pattern for free for this tour – all opinions are my own. I had actually been planning on buying it and now I can’t wait to make more!

I made mine from this horse fabric from Girl Charlee. It’s lightweight and drapey and just perfect for this pattern! Jocole Skinny Jeans blogged here.

Because the sleeves aren’t set-in, this shirt seriously takes no time at all to sew! The sleeves and the waist are all cuffed, which means no hemming, which is awesome in my book :) And look at that – I even got the horses going the right way on all the cuffs! I usually mess up one at least.

We have a “family” of horses down the road. Every time we drive past, I have to stop and roll down the window so John (my three year old) can talk to his horses. He’s even named them all: White, Brown, Other Brown, Daddy Horse, Mom Horse, John Horse, and Tim Horse. He’s clever, although not terribly original… He was convinced this fabric was for him and that he was going to get a horse shirt. He’s pretty jealous – good thing I thought ahead and ordered enough to make something for him!

One of the fun features of the pattern is the optional bow or flower. I made the flower and attached it to a pin so I can take it off when I’m not in the mood for embellishment.

I really can’t say enough good things about this pattern! It’s a wardrobe basic that is sized great, goes together fast, and looks awesome! I have plans for at least a couple more – I may play around with shortening the sleeves and lowering the neckline…

On to the fun stuff: giveaway time! If you can’t wait to see if you win the giveaway, you can pick it up from Rachel’s shop.
