Candy to My Soul

I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of this week’s Project Run & Play theme – Inspired by Candy. The only things I could think of were way too costume-y (cotton candy dress, anyone?) and I really am not a fan of making one-time-wear items. Halloween costumes being the exception :)┬áSo the more I thought about it, the more I kept coming back to this:

Sweet like candy

To my soul –

Sweet you rock,

Sweet you roll

Dave Matthews Band, Crash Into Me

Candy Shirts

These are Classic Ringer Tees with freezer paper stenciling on the fronts. John’s is his favorite color – green. Bean doesn’t really have an opinion yet (or at least can’t make it known…) so he got Mommy’s favorite – orange.

Someone was not overly thrilled I was taking pictures when he just wanted to cuddle with Bean.

They have color-coordinated ribbing at the necks and contrast topstitching which is kinda hard to see in the pictures.

I have no idea what’s going on in this one, but I think it’s funny :)

SO cute! I love this take on the candy theme. I too struggled with the costumey aspect of the challenge. I linked up a Milky Way inspired outfit for my son… SO much fun! Emily@nap-timecreations

So true! I’m posting my Nerds inspired outfit in the next few hours and had a hard time thinking something un-costumey up too. Great idea – I love that song! The shirts turned out really cute and I love their shorts too – did you make those?

I did make the pants – they’re actually next weeks theme because I had both boys and all their clothes clean and didn’t want to take a chance that it would happen again!! I considered doing Nerds too, but couldn’t think how to do it. I’ll have to go check yours out! :)
